TikToker Tasia Jewel has said that a flight attendant photographed her while she was sleeping on a flight from Austin, Texas, to Mexico City for the Formula 1. She described the incident as inappropriate and said it left her feeling unsafe.
According to Jewel, the flight attendant later told her, “Hey, yo friend, I took a picture of you while you were sleeping.” She also claimed he said he intended to post the photo on Facebook. Jewel said other cabin crew members joked about the situation as she left the aircraft.
Jewel called on Delta to fire the flight attendant. After her account received more than 200,000 views, she posted an update on October 31 saying she had spoken with the airline.
“I spoke up about an inappropriate comment that a flight attendant made towards me and the internet tried to gaslight me and call me a liar but the airline is 100% on my side and everything is being handled as it should,” Jewel said. She added that Delta had been kind and that the matter was already being worked out.
Jewel did not provide further details about the airline’s response or the specific action being taken.
