Derbyshire Police posted footage of a recent car chase on TikTok on November 3, editing it with a Grand Theft Auto-inspired HUD and the song “Flower in a Hurricane,” which is associated with GTA 6. The department joked that the driver could have waited for the game’s release rather than committing offences in real life, adding that dangerous driving belonged on the streets of Vice City.

The post identified the arrested man as Jack Vickrage and said he had been sentenced to 14 months in prison. Police said he was arrested on charges of dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, drug-driving and cannabis possession. The post also described the chase as involving high-speed driving through residential streets, with pedestrians and other vehicles nearby.

Some commenters played along with the game references, including one who pointed out that the video showed a five-star wanted level, while GTA 6 is expected to feature six stars. Others called for the account to receive early access to the game.

Police departments have used GTA 6 references in other arrest-related posts, too. The DeSoto County District Attorney’s Office in Mississippi began referencing the game in viral posts in June, while London’s Metropolitan Police has also faced criticism for using GTA-style arrest imagery in videos.
