Fortnite’s Treasure Hunters mini-season introduced the Pirate Shop, which gives players who find Pirate Shop Access two separate 14-day windows to claim eligible Item Shop cosmetics at no cost. Claimed items stay on the account permanently, but real-money offers, gifts and Battle Pass rewards are not eligible.

Epic Games has not published the reward’s drop rate. A community estimate widely shared by players puts the odds at about one in 700,000 chests, though that figure has not been confirmed by Epic.

Players have posted clips and reports of methods they say can trigger or destroy chests inside locked vaults without using a key. Those methods reportedly involve Explosive Cannon Balls, Luffy’s Gum-Gum Fruit or Shockwave Grenades. They may allow players to roll for the chest reward without opening the vault in the usual way, but the Pirate Shop Access drop remains random.

The hunt has also led to offers of paid help and tools. Jokifv said they were carrying players to the reward for payment and had already helped three people. Another user, cloudz44_, advertised a tool that allegedly improves the chances of finding the Pirate Token. A post by 4z5pk promoted an automated farming tool that, according to the post, could run matches in random squads while its user was away.

An eBay listing offers a Fortnite account titled “Fortnite Pirate Shop Access Account OG season 2” for $10,000 or best offer. The seller claims it includes more than 400 skins, naming Black Knight, Omega with lights, Royal Bomber, Neo Versa, Cobalt Snowfoot and Merry Mint Axe, and describes the Pirate Shop Access as unused.

Epic’s rules prohibit account sales, cheating, exploiting bugs and glitches, and promoting known exploits. The company says violations can result in warnings, suspensions or permanent bans, and players could lose access to games and virtual items. Pirate Shop Access is tied to the account that finds it and cannot be transferred, so the listing is for the full account rather than a transferable reward.

Epic has not said whether it will patch the reported methods or take action against accounts promoting them.
