Gentle Mates GC have reached the grand final of the VCT Game Changers Championship 2026 after beating Shopify Rebellion Gold 2-1 in the upper-bracket final in São Paulo on Friday, 30 October. The result keeps the Championship debutants unbeaten at the event and sends Shopify Rebellion Gold into the lower bracket.
Both teams entered the series having won every map they had played at the tournament. Shopify Rebellion Gold took the opening map after a 53-minute contest, but Gentle Mates responded on the second. Shopify pushed the map to 10-10 before the French-based side closed it out 13-11 after 55 minutes.
The decider on Summit lasted 57 minutes and ended 13-10 in Gentle Mates’ favour. Their roster of Marti, Nami, Wens, tokameite and berryx had previously recorded 2-0 wins over Team Liquid Brazil and MIBR GC to reach the upper-bracket final.
By advancing through the upper bracket, Gentle Mates will have a two-map ban advantage in Sunday’s best-of-five grand final. Shopify Rebellion Gold, led at the event by interim in-game leader alexis, must first defeat KRÜ Blaze in the lower-bracket final.
The lower-bracket match is a rematch of the teams’ upper-semifinal meeting, which Shopify Rebellion Gold won. KRÜ Blaze reached the rematch by beating Team Liquid Brazil and MIBR GC in the lower bracket without dropping a map.
Earlier rounds of the double-elimination tournament were played as best-of-three series, while both remaining matches are best-of-five. MIBR GC finished fourth and earned $50,000, while SK Nebula placed joint fifth to sixth for $25,000. Third place carries a $70,000 prize.
Shopify Rebellion Gold and KRÜ Blaze will meet on Saturday, 31 October, at 15:00 BRT. The winner will face Gentle Mates GC in the grand final on Sunday, 1 November, at 15:00 BRT.
