A 25-year-old fan of Grand Theft Auto 6 who drew widespread attention for hoping to live long enough to play the game has died, his family announced. He had been battling interstitial lung disease since he was 17 and needed a lung transplant as his condition worsened.
In a TikTok update posted on November 2, a family member said he developed a severe infection weeks before his death, causing his lungs to fill with blood. Doctors reportedly warned the family that he was unlikely to survive and discussed hospice care. He initially chose to continue treatment, including life support with ECMO, which supports heart and lung function.
His health continued to decline, and on October 28 he told his family he was ready to stop fighting. The next morning, they were told another infection had developed overnight, his blood work had worsened and his organs were beginning to shut down. He died on October 29.
His mother, Paris Fort, had launched a GoFundMe campaign to help pay for his treatment and recovery. The fundraiser raised more than $96,000 from around 5,000 donations, surpassing its original $15,000 target. The family thanked supporters, saying their help made his final months memorable.
Alongside his hope of playing GTA 6, he wanted to share his music with a wider audience. His family said they are planning a balloon release for supporters, but have not announced a date.
