MrBeast has revealed that he spent $7 million producing the second season of his animated series, Beast Labs. The project involved 250 artists from 16 countries, who created more than 140,000 hand-drawn animation frames.

The YouTube creator originally released a 30-minute pilot in 2025, but decided to overhaul the series after viewers criticized its storyline, characters and lack of emotional depth. In a behind-the-scenes video, Donaldson explained that he initially tried to animate the project himself before assembling a larger international team.

The revamped production recruited writers with experience on shows including South Park and Bob’s Burgers. Among them was Jameel Saleem, who said the production’s priority was to develop its characters rather than focus only on action scenes.

Season 2 also expands the setting beyond the laboratory featured in the pilot. The new episodes include deserts, cities, shopping malls and car chases. Donaldson described the third episode as “basically a Mad Max movie” and said the season runs for more than 100 minutes.

The voice cast includes Fred Tatasciore, known for voicing the Hulk in Marvel projects, as well as actors associated with Star Wars and anime productions. Donaldson highlighted Tatasciore’s performance and said the actor became emotional while recording dialogue for the series.

Internet personalities Sketch and Valkyrae appear in the first episode. Members of MrBeast’s team, including Nolan and Tareq, also have roles, while the character Panthar returns with a more developed storyline.

Donaldson additionally addressed comparisons between Beast Labs and Invincible after viewers repeatedly mentioned the Amazon animated superhero series in comments on a teaser. He also warned that the show should not necessarily be viewed as children’s entertainment, despite its animated format.
