Tenerife forward Jesús de Miguel has died aged 30 after collapsing during a match against Andorra on Monday, November 2. He suffered a cardiac arrest after being struck in the chest in a challenge for the ball at Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López, the recovered report says.

Players from both teams called for medical assistance. Medical staff treated De Miguel on the pitch for more than five minutes before he was taken to hospital by ambulance. The match was abandoned, and Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono, who was involved in the collision, received a straight red card.

Tenerife later said De Miguel’s neurological condition had deteriorated. The club announced his death on Tuesday morning, November 3, at 8:00 a.m., and expressed its condolences to his family, loved ones and the Tenerife community.

De Miguel began his professional career with Leganés B in 2015 and played for eight other Spanish clubs before joining Tenerife in 2025. Tributes followed from clubs including Barcelona, Real Madrid and Andorra. Former Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué, Andorra’s majority shareholder, also paid tribute on social media.
