Call of Duty: Warzone will temporarily remove Verdansk and Rebirth Island when Season 1 begins on November 6. The two long-standing maps will be replaced by new locations, although Activision has confirmed that both will return during the season.
Hajin, previously featured in DMZ, will become Warzone’s main Battle Royale map in place of Verdansk. Set across North and South Korea, the large-scale location includes 13 major points of interest, with cities, farmland and military facilities connected by changing weather conditions. It will also introduce a new Gulag for eliminated players fighting to re-enter a match.
For Resurgence, Zodiac will replace Rebirth Island. The smaller map is centered on a South Korean drone manufacturing facility and contains 10 named locations. Its industrial design includes underground tunnels, moving trains and interactive hazards.
Activision has not announced an exact return date for Verdansk or Rebirth Island. When Verdansk returns, it will include new points of interest such as Signal Station, Grazna-7 Launch Complex, the Overlook skyscraper and Drone Labs. Rebirth Island will retain its prison and surrounding areas while adding new waterways and hidden passages.
Season 1 will also integrate Modern Warfare 4 into Warzone, including the transfer of its multiplayer weapons to the battle royale.
